Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Melloba ("we", "us") provides a mobile application that analyses everyday conversations between parents and their children and turns them into visual reports. You can contact us about this policy at privacy@melloba.com.

2. What we collect

• Account information you provide: your email address, used to sign in with an emailed link.
• About your child: an age range, kept as an approximate month of birth (never an exact date), an optional nickname, and your relationship to them.
• Recordings you choose to analyse, and the results Melloba derives from them — measurements, levels, and short quoted moments used as evidence in your reports.
• Your choice about optional research sharing.
• Limited technical information needed to operate the service securely.

3. How audio is handled

Each recording is turned into text and measured to produce your report. The audio file is deleted once Melloba has finished processing it. Deleting your account also removes any recordings still held for it.

4. How we use information

To provide the app's core features, generate reports, maintain security, and support you. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

5. Legal bases and consent

We process recordings, and the results derived from them, on the basis of the consent you give when you set up your child in the app. We use your account information to provide the service you signed up for and to keep it secure.

6. Sharing

We share data only with service providers that help us operate the app: cloud hosting (Render), speech-to-text transcription (OpenAI), and delivery of sign-in emails (Resend). We do not share your data for research unless you choose to allow it during setup; that option is off by default.

7. Data retention and deletion

Your reports and the results behind them stay in your account until you delete your account. You can do this from Settings in the app: it permanently removes your account and everything in it — your child's profile, recordings and insights. We keep a record that a deletion took place, without the deleted personal information. Deleting a single report on its own is not yet available.

8. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections, recordings are stored encrypted, and access to data is limited. No system is perfectly secure, and we continue to improve our safeguards.

9. Children

Melloba is used by parents and guardians, not by children. About your child it asks only for an age range and an optional nickname, alongside the recordings you choose to analyse. Its reports describe conversations; they are not assessments of your child.

10. Your rights

You can delete your account, and everything in it, from Settings in the app at any time. To ask for a copy of your data, a correction, or anything else about your data, contact privacy@melloba.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law.

11. International transfers

Some of our service providers, including the transcription service, may process data in countries other than your own.

12. Changes

We will post updates to this policy here and update the date above.
